Service of infringement notices—generally
13 Service of infringement notices—generally
(1) If an authorised person reasonably believes a person has committed an
infringement notice offence, the authorised person may serve an infringement
notice on the person for the offence.
(2) If the infringement notice offence
involves a vehicle, the infringement notice may be served under section 14 .
(3) Section 14 does not limit the ways an infringement notice may be served on
a person.
(4) An infringement notice for an offence must not be served on a
person after the end of the period within which a prosecution for the offence
may be started and, if served, must be withdrawn.
(5) Section 28 (2) to (4)
applies to the withdrawal of an infringement notice under subsection (4) .
