Entering into an emergency service contract
48B Entering into an emergency service contract
(1) The chief executive may— (a) invite offers from the public or operators,
in whatever way the chief executive considers appropriate, for an emergency
service contract; and
(b) decide the period within which offers must be made.
(2) Despite subsection (1) , the chief executive may enter into an emergency
service contract without inviting offers for the contract if satisfied the
contract is necessary to ensure the continuity of a public passenger service.
