TRANSPORT OPERATIONS (PASSENGER TRANSPORT) ACT 1994 - SECT 6
Contents of passenger transport strategies
6 Contents of passenger transport strategies
(1) Passenger transport strategies must include— (a) a statement of the
specific objectives sought to be achieved; and
(b) proposals for the
provision of public passenger transport; and
(c) criteria for deciding
priorities for government spending on public passenger transport, and options
for raising the necessary finance; and
(d) appropriate performance indicators
for deciding whether, and to what extent, the objectives of the strategies
have been achieved.
(2) Passenger transport strategies must aim to provide an
adequate framework for coordinating and integrating the provision of passenger
transport between the different transport modes and different levels of
government.
(3) Passenger transport strategies may also take into account
agreements between the State and the Commonwealth, other States and local
governments about passenger transport.
(4) If there is an integrated regional
transport plan under the Transport Planning and Coordination Act 1994 for an
area, the passenger transport strategies for the area must not be inconsistent
with, and must give effect to, the plan.
