WORKERS' COMPENSATION AND REHABILITATION ACT 2003 - SECT 30
Who is an employer
(1) An
"employer" is a person who engages a worker to perform work.
(2) Also,
schedule 3 sets out who is an
"employer" in particular circumstances.
(3) To remove doubt, a reference to
an
"employer" of a worker who sustains an injury is a reference to the
"employer" out of whose employment, or in the course of whose employment, the
injury arose.
(4) In this section—
"contract" includes agreement and arrangement.
"person" includes— (a) a government entity; and
(b) the legal personal
representative of a deceased individual.
