TRANSPORT OPERATIONS (ROAD USE MANAGEMENT--ROAD RULES) REGULATION 2009 - REG 196
Stopping at or near a tram stop
196 Stopping at or near a tram stop
(1) A driver (except the driver of a tram, a tram recovery vehicle or a bus
travelling along tram tracks) must not stop at a tram stop or on the road
within 20m before a sign that indicates a tram stop, unless— (a) the driver
stops at a place on a length of road, or in an area, to which a parking
control sign applies; and
(b) the driver is permitted to stop at that place
under this regulation.
Penalty— Maximum penalty—20 penalty units.
(2) For this section, the distance is measured in the direction in which the
driver is driving.
(3) In this section—
"road" does not include a road-related area, but includes any shoulder of the
road.
