TRANSPORT OPERATIONS (ROAD USE MANAGEMENT--ROAD RULES) REGULATION 2009 - REG 301
Leading an animal while in or on a vehicle
301 Leading an animal while in or on a vehicle
(1) The driver of a motor vehicle must not lead an animal, including by
tethering the animal to the motor vehicle. Penalty— Maximum
penalty—20 penalty units.
(2) A person who is a passenger in, or on any
part of, a motor vehicle must not lead an animal while the motor vehicle is
moving. Penalty— Maximum penalty—20 penalty units.
(3) The rider
of a bicycle or a personal mobility device must not lead an animal, including
by tethering the animal to the bicycle or device. Penalty— Maximum
penalty—20 penalty units.
(4) The rider of an animal must not lead more
than 1 other animal on a road, unless the rider holds a permit issued by a
local government. Penalty— Maximum penalty—20 penalty units.
