FISHERIES (CONTRAVENTION OF CORRESPONDING LAWS) AMENDMENT BILL 2002

The Parliament of South Australia enacts as follows:


Short title

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Fisheries (Contravention of Corresponding Laws) Amendment Act 2002.

(2) The Fisheries Act 1982 is referred to in this Act as "the principal Act".

Commencement

2. This Act will come into operation on a day to be fixed by proclamation.

Amendment of s. 44—Offences with respect to sale, purchase or possession of fish

3. Section 44 of the principal Act is amended—

(a)by inserting in subsection (2)(a) "or a corresponding law" after "this Act";

(b)by inserting in subsection (3)(a)(ii) "or a corresponding law" after "this Act";

(c)by inserting in subsection (3)(b)(ii) "or a corresponding law" after "this Act";

(d)by inserting after subsection (4) the following subsection:

(5) In this section—

"corresponding law" means a law of the Commonwealth or another State or a Territory of the Commonwealth that corresponds to this Act.
