The Parliament of South Australia enacts as
follows:
This Act may be cited as the Local Government (Waste Collection)
Amendment Act 2013.
This Act will come into operation 1 month after the day on which it is
assented to by the Governor.
In this Act, a provision under a heading referring to the amendment of a
specified Act amends the Act so specified.
Part 2—Amendment
of Local Government
Act 1999
4—Amendment
of section 4—Interpretation
Section 4(1)—after the definition of member
insert:
Metropolitan Adelaide has the same meaning as in the Development
Act 1993;
metropolitan council means a council whose area is wholly or
partly within Metropolitan Adelaide;
After section 297 insert:
297A—Waste collection
A metropolitan council must endeavour to ensure that a weekly general
kerbside waste collection service (other than for recyclable waste or vegetative
matter) is provided for residential premises within its area.

Agreement
Schedule 1A, clause 1(1), definitions of Metropolitan
Adelaide and metropolitan council—delete the
definitions
