The Parliament of South Australia enacts as
follows:
This Act may be cited as the Natural Resources Management (Transparency
of Ministers Directions) Amendment Act 2016.
In this Act, a provision under a heading referring to the amendment of a
specified Act amends the Act so specified.
Part 2—Amendment
of Natural Resources Management
Act 2004
After section 39 insert:
40—Reports to Natural Resources Committee of
Parliament
(1) Subject to
subsection (2)
, a regional NRM Board must, within 14 days after receiving any
direction from the Minister or the Treasurer under this Act, furnish the Natural
Resources Committee of the Parliament with a report on the matter including, in
the case of a written direction, a copy of the direction.
(2) A regional NRM
Board is not required to furnish reports to the Natural Resources Committee of
the Parliament about—
(a) the assignment of functions to the board by the Minister under
section 23 or 29; or
(b) any direction that, in the opinion of the board, is of minor
significance taking into account its functions and powers.
