The Parliament of South Australia enacts as
follows:
This Act may be cited as the Passenger Transport (Safety of Passengers)
Amendment Act 2007.
This Act comes into operation 3 months after assent.
In this Act, a provision under a heading referring to the amendment of a
specified Act amends the Act so specified.
Part 2—Amendment
of Passenger Transport
Act 1994
4—Amendment of
section 45—Requirement for a licence
(1) Section 45(4)—after paragraph (c) insert:
(d) the vehicle must be fitted with—
(i) a GPS that ensures that the location of the vehicle is tracked
whenever the engine of the vehicle is running, and that forms part of a system
that stores that location for at least 3 months; and
(ii) a security camera system that provides a photographic or other visual
recording of the occupants of the vehicle at least once in every 60 seconds
while the engine of the vehicle is running.
(2) Section 45—after subsection (8) insert:
(9) A GPS or security camera system under subsection (4) must comply
with any other requirements prescribed by the regulations.
(10) In this section—
GPS means a Global Positioning System.
