84 Consumption of alcohol while driving
The Parliament of South Australia enacts as
follows:
This Act may be cited as the Road Traffic (Consumption of Alcohol While
Driving) Amendment Act 2009.
In this Act, a provision under a heading referring to the amendment of a
specified Act amends the Act so specified.
Part 2—Amendment
of Road Traffic
Act 1961
After section 83A insert:
84—Consumption of alcohol while
driving
A person must not consume alcohol while driving a vehicle or attempting to
put a vehicle in motion.
Maximum penalty: $2 500.
Expiation fee:
(a) if the vehicle is a motor vehicle—$300;
(b) if the vehicle is not a motor vehicle—$60.
