The Parliament of South Australia enacts as follows:

Part 1—Preliminary

1—Short title

This Act may be cited as the Statutes Amendment (Anti-bullying) Act 2012.

2—Commencement

This Act will come into operation 6 months after the day on which it is assented to by the Governor.

3—Amendment provisions

In this Act, a provision under a heading referring to the amendment of a specified Act amends the Act so specified.

Part 2—Amendment of Criminal Law Consolidation Act 1935

4—Amendment of section 19AA—Unlawful stalking

Section 19AA(1)(a)—after subparagraph (ivb) insert:

(ivc) uses abusive or offensive words to or in the presence of the person; or

(ivd) performs abusive or offensive acts in the presence of the person; or

(ive) directs abusive or offensive acts towards the person; or

Part 3—Amendment of Intervention Orders (Prevention of Abuse) Act 2009

5—Amendment of section 8—Meaning of abuse—domestic and non-domestic

Section 8(4)—after paragraph (j) insert:

(ja) using abusive or offensive words to or in the presence of the person;

(jb) performing abusive or offensive acts in the presence of the person;

(jc) directing abusive or offensive acts towards the person;
