The Parliament of South Australia enacts as follows:

1—Short title

This Act may be cited as the Supply Act 2006.

2—Interpretation

In this Act—

agency means a Minister, an administrative unit, or part of an administrative unit, of the Public Service of the State or any other instrumentality or agency of the Crown.

3—Appropriation

(1) The sum of thirty-one (31) hundred million dollars is appropriated from the Consolidated Account for the Public Service of the State for the financial year ending on 30 June 2007.

(2) Money must not be issued or applied pursuant to that appropriation for any purpose in excess of the amount appropriated by Parliament for the same purpose in respect of the 2005/2006 financial year.

(3) Where a purpose for which Parliament appropriated money in respect of the 2005/2006 financial year was to enable a particular agency to carry out its functions and duties and—

(a) some of the functions or duties of the agency are transferred to another agency; or

(b) the agency is abolished or dissolved and some or all of its functions or duties become the functions or duties of another agency,

the issue and application of money under this Act to enable the other agency to carry out those functions or duties will be taken to be for the same purpose as the appropriation of money for the first mentioned agency in respect of the 2005/2006 financial year.
