22—Court to consider report on suitability of adoptive parents
(1) Before making an
order for the adoption of a child, the Court will consider any report prepared
by or on behalf of the Chief Executive and submitted to the Court as to—
(a)
where the Chief Executive is the guardian of the child under
section 25—the circumstances of the child; and
(b) in
any case—the suitability of the prospective adoptive parents and their
capacity to care adequately for the child.
(2) Subject to
subsection (3), a copy of a report prepared under subsection (1)
will be made available to the prospective adoptive parents.
(3) The Court may
order that the contents or part of the contents of a report prepared under
subsection (1) be suppressed from disclosure to the prospective adoptive
parents or any other person.
(4) The Court may
require prospective adoptive parents to submit evidence, to the satisfaction
of the Court, of their good health.
