(1) The Council should
take reasonable steps to undertake, or to participate in, strategic planning
for its area, and the State more generally (so far as is relevant to the City
of Adelaide).
(2) The Council
should, in undertaking, or participating in, strategic planning seek—
(a) to
include an assessment of local and wider issues affecting the City of Adelaide
and the Council's responses to those issues (including by co-operation with
other councils and bodies); and
(b) to
develop policy statements and proposals to address issues associated with the
economic, social, physical and environmental development and management of the
City of Adelaide; and
(c) to
ensure consistency with any relevant state planning policy, the regional plan
for Greater Adelaide (insofar as it is relevant to the City of Adelaide), and
the Planning and Design Code, under the Planning, Development and
Infrastructure Act 2016 ; and
(d) to
address other relevant issues.
