36A—Restraints to be used on prisoners in certain circumstances
(1) An officer or
employee of the Department may use restraints on a prisoner—
(a) if
the prisoner is being transferred from the place in which the prisoner is
being detained to a place where the prisoner is to be detained; or
(b) if
the prisoner is on leave of absence and is required to be in the custody of,
and be supervised by, 1 or more officers or employees of the Department
authorised by the Minister under section 27(2)(a)(i); or
(c) in
any other circumstances determined by the CE.
(2) An officer or
employee of the Department who uses restraints on a prisoner under this
section must comply with any requirements determined by the CE.
