263A—Investigations by Ombudsman
(1) The Minister may
refer to the Ombudsman for investigation and report under the
Ombudsman Act 1972 any matter alleged to involve a contravention of, or
failure to comply with, an integrity provision by a member of a council.
(2) Any person may
make a complaint to the Ombudsman setting out matters alleged to involve a
contravention of, or failure to comply with, an integrity provision by a
member of a council.
(3) The Ombudsman may,
on his or her own initiative, carry out an investigation under the
Ombudsman Act 1972 of matters that may involve a contravention of, or
failure to comply with, an integrity provision by a member of a council.
(4) For the purposes
of the Ombudsman Act 1972 , all acts that may involve a contravention of,
or failure to comply with, an integrity provision by a member of a council
will be taken to be administrative acts.
