(1) The Tribunal may,
if it thinks fit, stay any proceedings before the Tribunal until further order
on such terms as it considers proper.
(2) If proceedings are
stayed, the legal practitioner's practising certificate (whether a
practising certificate under this Act or an interstate practising certificate)
is suspended until the proceedings are completed unless the Tribunal considers
that there is good reason for not suspending the certificate and orders
accordingly.
(3) If a
legal practitioner's practising certificate is suspended under
subsection (2), the Supreme Court may, on application by the
practitioner, terminate the suspension.
