AUSTRALIAN ROAD RULES - REG 207

207—Parking where fees are payable

        (1)         This rule applies to a driver who parks on a length of road, or in an area, to which a permissive parking sign applies if information on or with the sign indicates that a fee is payable for parking.

SA NOTE—

For South Australia, see regulation 22 of the Road Traffic (Road Rules—Ancillary and Miscellaneous Provisions) Regulations 2014 and section 86A of the Road Traffic Act 1961 .

Note—

"With" is defined in the dictionary.

        (2)         The driver must—

            (a)         pay the fee (if any) payable under the law of this jurisdiction; and

            (b)         obey instructions (if any)—

                  (i)         on or with the sign or a meter, ticket or ticket-vending machine; and

                  (ii)         in a mobile app or other electronic method used for the payment of fees under this rule, being an app or method indicated on or with the sign or a meter, ticket or ticket-vending machine.

Note 1—

"Area", "length" of road, "park" and "stop" are defined in the dictionary.

Note 2—

Rule 165 provides defences to the prosecution of a driver for an offence against a provision of this Division.
