A BILL FOR
An Act to amend the Financial Management and Audit Act
1990 to facilitate quarterly reporting on the State Budget
Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by
and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and
House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:
1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Financial
Management and Audit (Quarterly Reporting)
Amendment Act 2011.
2. Commencement
This Act commences on the day on which this
Act receives the Royal Assent.

3. Principal Act
Unless the contrary intention appears, the
Principal Act referred to in this Act is the
Financial Management and Audit Act 1990*.
4. Section 26 amended (Treasurer's half-yearly
reports)
Section 26 of the Principal Act is amended as
follows:
(a) by omitting from the title "half-yearly
reports" and substituting "quarterly
reports";
(b) by omitting from subsection (1) "by 15
February each year for the 6 months
ended the previous 31 December" and
substituting "within 4 weeks of the 15th
of September, within 4 weeks of the 15th
of December, within 4 weeks of the 15th
of March and within 4 weeks of the 15th
of June of each year";
(c) by omitting from subsection (2) "The
half-yearly report" and substituting "The
quarterly report";
(d) by omitting from subsection (2)(c) "6
months ended the previous 31
December" and substituting "previous
quarter";
