PUBLIC HEALTH AMENDMENT (SMOKE FREE INDOOR WORKPLACE AREAS) BILL 2004 (Brought in by the Shadow Minister for Health and Human Services Sue Napier MHA) A BILL FOR An Act to amend the Public Health Act 1997 Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows: Short title 1. This Act may be cited as the Public Health Amendment (Smoke Free Indoor Workplace Areas) Act 2004. Commencement 2. This Act commences on 2 January 2005. Principal Act 3. In this Act, the Public Health Act 1997* is referred to as the Principal Act. Act binds the Crown 4. This Act binds the Crown in right of Tasmania and, so far as the legislative power of Parliament permits, in all its other capacities. Section 67B Amended (Smoke-free areas) 5. Section 67B (1) of the Principal Act is amended as follows: (a) By omitting paragraph (g) and substituting the following paragraphs: (g) a gaming area; (h) a bar area. Section 67B Amended (Smoke-free areas) 6. Section 67B (2) is amended by repealing subsections (d) and (e). * No.86 of 1997

 


 

Section 67F Amended (Smoke-free areas) 7. Section 67F is repealed.
