REPEAL OF BY-LAWS POSTPONEMENT BILL 2012 This Public Bill originated in the House of Assembly, and, having this day passed, is now ready for presentation to the Legislative Council for its concurrence. P. R. ALCOCK, Clerk of the House 18 October 2012 (Brought in by the Minister for Infrastructure, the Honourable David James O'Byrne) A BILL FOR An Act to postpone the repeal of certain by-laws Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows: 1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Repeal of By-laws Postponement Act 2012. 2. Commencement This Act commences on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent. 3. Postponement of repeals (1) The staged repeals of the by-laws specified in column 1of Schedule 1 that, but for this section, were to have been effected on the respective [Bill 47] 3

 


 

Repeal of By-laws Postponement Act 2012 Act No. of s. 4 dates specified in column 2 of that Schedule are postponed until 23 December 2013. (2) Subsection (1) does not prevent any of the by- laws specified in Schedule 1 from being rescinded before 23 December 2013. (3) In this section - staged repeals means repeals that are effected by section 11 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1992. 4. Administration of Act Until provision is made in relation to this Act by order under section 4 of the Administrative Arrangements Act 1990 - (a) the administration of this Act is assigned to the Minister for Infrastructure; and (b) the department responsible to that Minister in relation to the administration of this Act is the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources. 5. Expiry This Act expires on 24 December 2013. 4
