TASMANIAN PORTS CORPORATION (REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVES) AMENDMENT BILL 2009 (Brought in by Jeremy Page Rockliff) A BILL FOR An Act to amend the Tasmanian Ports Corporation Act 2005 to ensure that Tasmanian Ports Corporation Pty Ltd must have directors resident in each region of the State Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows: 1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Tasmanian Ports Corporation (Regional Representatives) Amendment Act 2009. 2. Commencement This Act commences on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent. 3. Principal Act In this Act, the Tasmanian Ports Corporation Act 2005* is referred to as the Principal Act. 4. Section 12 amended (Directors of Corporation) Section 12 of the Principal Act is amended by inserting the following section after subsection 2. 2A. Notwithstanding any provision of the constitution or any other provision in this Act, at least one director of the Tasmanian Ports Corporation Pty Ltd (ACN 114 161 938) shall be ordinarily resident in each of the north, north-west and southern regions of the State. _____________________________________________________________ *No. 41 of 2005
