FOREST MANAGEMENT (CONSEQUENTIAL AMENDMENTS) BILL 2013 BILL 57 OF 2013

FOREST MANAGEMENT (CONSEQUENTIAL AMENDMENTS) BILL 2013

                                       CLAUSE NOTES

Clause 1 Short title and citation.

Clause 2 The Act commences on a day to be proclaimed.

Clause 3 This clause provides that amendments to regulations, rules or by-laws by the
Act can still be amended or rescinded.

This clarifies that amendments made to regulations or by-laws in this Act can
be amended or rescinded in the future by regulations, by-laws or rules.

Without this clarifying provision there may be restrictions to amend regulations
covered by this Act should a need arise to do so at sometime in the future.

Clause 4 This provides for the repeal of this Act within one year from the day on which it
           commences.

This ensures that once the amendments made to the legislation in Schedule 1
are incorporated into that legislation this Act can be repealed automatically.
