HEAVY VEHICLE NATIONAL LAW AMENDMENT BILL 2016 BILL 37 OF 2016

                                 CLAUSE NOTES

           Heavy Vehicle National Law (Tasmania) Amendment Bill 2016


Clause 1                 Short title and citation.

Clause 2                 The Act commences when it received Royal Assent.

Clause 3                 In this Act, the Heavy Vehicle National Law (Tasmania) Act
                         2013 is referred to as the Principal Act.
Clause 4                 This clause amends Section 16 (Road Manager). It
                         clarifies that the Minister is only Road Manager for those
                         roads described as State highways or subsidiary roads
                         under the Roads and Jetties Act 1935.

Clause 5                 This clause inserts Section 42A (Delegation). It allows
                         the Minister to delegate any powers under the Act
                         except for the power of delegation.

Clause 6                 This clause provides for this Amending Act to be
                         repealed after one year as per legislative drafting practice.
