MOTOR VEHICLE TRADERS AMENDMENT BILL 52 OF 2011

                     CLAUSE NOTES

      Motor Vehicle Traders Amendment Bill 2011


PART 1 ­ PRELIMINARY

Clause 1   Short Title
           The Act is referred to as the Motor Vehicle Traders
           Amendment Act 2011.

Clause 2   Commencement
           The Act commences on the day on which it receives the
           Royal Assent.

Clause 3   Principal Act
           The Motor Vehicle Traders Act 2011 is the Principal Act.

Clause 4   Section 2 amended (Commencement)
           The Principal Act is amended to commence on a day or
           days to be proclaimed.

Clause 5   Section 64 substituted
           Section 64 relates to consequential amendments.
           Substitutes a new section 64 with two schedules, reflecting
           a new commencement date of 1 April 2012.


Clause 6   Schedule 1 substituted
           Substitutes a new schedule 1 in the same terms as the
           previous schedule 1 but not extending to amendments to
           the Duties Act 2001.
           Inserts a new schedule 1A that amends the Duties Act
           2001 in the same terms as the former schedule.
