TRAVEL AGENTS REPEAL BILL 2014 BILL 24 OF 2014

                     CLAUSE NOTES

               Travel Agents Repeal Bill 2014

Clause 1:     provides for the short title of the Act

Clause 2:     specifies that the Act commences on Royal
              Assent.

Clause 3:     provides for the continued operation of the
              compensation scheme in accordance with the
              trust deed creating the scheme.

Clause 4:     provides for several amendments consequential
              to the Act in Schedule 1

Clause 5:     states that legislation listed in Schedule 2 is
              repealed by this Act.

Clause 6:     states that legislation listed in Schedule 3 is
              rescinded by this Act.

Clause 7:     provides for the revocation of legislation listed in
              Schedule 4.

Clause 8:     enables further amendments to be made to
              regulations or orders amended by this Act.

Clause 9:     provides for the automatic repeal of this Act
              three years after its commencement.

Clause 10:    specifies that the administration of this Act is
              assigned to the Minister for Justice and the
              Department of Justice unless otherwise provided
              for in the Administrative Arrangements Act 1990.
Schedule 1:   removes references to the Travel Agents Act
              1987 from the Australian Consumer Law
