Clause 1 Short title and citation.
Clause 2 The Act will commence on Royal Assent.
Section 4 commences on a day to be
proclaimed.
Clause 3 The Principal Act is the Vehicle and Traffic
Act 1999.
Clause 4 Amends Schedule 2 of the Principal Act
which prescribes that amount of motor tax that
is to apply to heavy vehicles from a date to be
proclaimed in 2012 and beyond.
Inserts additional information to the
definitions in clause 1 (1) of a B-double
combination and omits the definition of tax
table.
Omits clauses 2, 3, 4 and 5 and substitutes the
following clauses:
(2) The clause establishes the tax payable for
heavy vehicles from a date to be proclaimed in
2012 to 30 June 2013. The amount of tax
payable for a heavy vehicle type specified in
column 2 of the table is the amount
correspondingly specified in column 3 of the
table.
(3) This clause establishes the tax payable for
heavy vehicles for the financial year 2013-14
and beyond.
Clause 5 This clause validates and removes doubt in
relation to the 2009/10 and 2011/12 increases
to heavy vehicle charges, in particular the
annual adjustment factors applied in those
years.
