(1) A police officer may require a person the police officer reasonably believes has possession of a firearm, whether or not loaded, in a public place or a vehicle in a public place, to hand the firearm to the police officer for examination.(2) For the purpose of subsection (1) , a police officer may require a person driving or in control of a vehicle to stop the vehicle.(3) A person must comply with a requirement under this section.Penalty: Fine not exceeding 20 penalty units or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months, or both.
