(1) A police officer who has reasonable ground to believe that a person has committed, is committing or is about to commit, an offence under this Act, may, without warrant (a) search that person or any vehicle, package or other thing in that person's possession; and(b) seize any firearm or ammunition that is found and detain it; and(c) seize any licence or permit found in that person's possession; and(d) if the person is found to be in possession of a firearm or ammunition, arrest that person.(2) For the purposes of subsection (1) , a police officer may require a person driving or in control of a vehicle to stop the vehicle.(3) A person must comply with a requirement under this section.Penalty: Fine not exceeding 20 penalty units or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months, or both.
