(1) The Authority, after consulting with Private Forests Tasmania, the Council and the Forestry corporation, may amend the Forest Practices Code or rescind the Forest Practices Code and issue a new Forest Practices Code in substitution for the rescinded Code.(2) A person may, in writing, request the Authority to amend the Forest Practices Code.(3) Where the Authority intends to amend the Forest Practices Code, it shall cause a notice containing the prescribed particulars to be published in the daily newspapers published in this State.(4) For the purposes of subsection (3) , prescribed particulars means (a) notification of the Authority's intention to amend the Forest Practices Code;(b) a brief description of the effect of the proposed amendments;(c) a statement to the effect that (i) the amendments to the Forest Practices Code proposed to be made by the Authority are set forth in a document kept at the office of the Authority and may be inspected at that office by any person without payment of a fee; and(ii) objections to the amendments referred to in subparagraph (i) may be lodged with the Authority by the date specified in the notice, being a date not earlier than 60 days after the date on which the notice is published in the newspaper; and(d) such other particulars as the Authority considers necessary.
