HISTORIC CULTURAL HERITAGE ACT 1995 - SECT 66

Activity disturbing shipwrecks
(1)  A person must not undertake any activity which is likely to result in the physical disturbance or change to the fabric or condition of a shipwreck without the Heritage Council's approval.
Penalty:  Fine not exceeding 10 000 penalty units.
(2)  A person may apply to the Heritage Council for approval to undertake activity of a kind referred to in subsection (1) by lodging an application –
(a) in writing; and
(b) stating the details of the activity proposed to be undertaken.
