SENTENCING ACT 1997 - SECT 13
Maximum prison term imposable by court of petty sessions for crime triable summarily
The maximum term of imprisonment that a court of petty sessions may impose on
an offender convicted of a crime that is triable summarily is –
(a) 3 years for a first offence; or
(b) 5 years for a second or subsequent offence.
