A drug treatment order is a sentencing order that aims to do one or more of the following in respect of an offender with a demonstrable history of illicit drug use:(a) provide an alternative sanction to imprisonment;(b) through an integrated, supervised and reviewable treatment regime, facilitate the offender's rehabilitation and reintegration into the community;(c) reduce the incentive for the offender to resort to criminal activity;(d) reduce risks to the offender's health and well-being.
