Section 3 of the Principal Act is amended as follows:

(a) by omitting the definition of Commission ;

(b) by omitting the definition of lottery ;

(c) by omitting ", and includes a common gaming-house" from the definition of public place ;

(d) by omitting the definition of sweepstake ;

(e) by omitting the definition of tipping competition ;

(f) by omitting "who" first occurring from the definition of to bet and substituting "who, in relation to a sporting contingency" ;

(g) by omitting "or wagers" from paragraph (a) of the definition of to bet ;

(h) by omitting "or wager" from paragraph (b) of the definition of to bet ;

(i) by omitting "or wager," from paragraph (c) of the definition of to bet ;

(j) by omitting "bet or wager –" from paragraph (c) of the definition of to bet and substituting "bet –" .
