(1) A rating authority must pay to the Valuer-General the cost, as determined by the Valuer-General, of making and furnishing to the rating authority a valuation list.(2) Before a contract is entered into by the Minister for the provision of valuation services under section 20 (a) the Valuer-General must advise the rating authority of the methods to be used in determining the cost under subsection (1) ; and(b) the rating authority must advise the Valuer-General as to the terms of payment applicable to the contract.(3) For the purposes of subsection (2) , the rating authority must elect to pay the cost in respect of a valuation list, other than a supplementary valuation list (a) in a lump sum; or(b) by instalments.(4) A rating authority must pay an account issued under this section in respect of a supplementary valuation list in a lump sum.(5) An amount payable to the Valuer-General under this section is a debt due to the Crown and may be recovered in a court of competent jurisdiction.
