(1) The Minister may appoint a State Service officer or State Service employee to be the Deputy Valuer-General and that person may hold that office in conjunction with State Service employment.(2) The Deputy Valuer-General so appointed may, in the absence of the Valuer-General, perform any of the functions or duties or exercise any of the powers of the Valuer-General under this Act.(3) The Minister may appoint or employ such persons as may be considered necessary to provide valuation services to the Valuer-General and the appointment or employment may be subject to, and in accordance with, the State Service Act 2000 .
