ASSISTED REPRODUCTIVE TREATMENT ACT 2008 - SECT 54A

Authority to correct or include information on Central Register without request

S. 54A(1) amended by No. 6/2016 s. 12(2).

    (1)     The Authority may use information provided under section 52A, 63A or  140 to amend or correct information, or create a new entry, in the Central Register if, in the Authority's opinion, the amendment, correction or new entry will make the Central Register more accurate or complete.

    (2)     The Authority may use information or records obtained under section 52B , 56A(2), 56B or 56J or under a production order to amend or correct information, or create a new entry, in the Central Register, if, in the Authority's opinion, the amendment, correction or new entry will make the Central Register more accurate or complete.

    (3)     For the purposes of subsection (2)     , in considering whether a new entry will make the Central Register more accurate or complete, the Authority must have regard to the desirability of including in the Central Register as much as possible of the information required under section 53.
