CRIMINAL PROCEDURE ACT 2009 - SECT 420A

Purpose and effect of Chapter

    (1)     The purpose of this Chapter is to provide temporary arrangements for trial by judge alone on an order made or applied for while a pandemic declaration is in force.

    (2)     This Chapter applies despite anything to the contrary in—

        (a)     another Chapter of this Act; or

        (b)     any other Act, other than—

              (i)     the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities; or

              (ii)     the Constitution Act 1975 ; or

        (c)     any subordinate instrument, other than a subordinate instrument made under—

              (i)     the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities; or

              (ii)     the Constitution Act 1975 ; or

        (d)     any other law.
