EDUCATION AND TRAINING REFORM ACT 2006 - SECT 5.6.4

Jurisdiction

Without limiting the generality of section 5.6.2, if any question or matter arises under that section, including any question as to the amount of any compensation payable or the existence and extent of dependency—

        (a)     the County Court, the Magistrates' Court and VCAT have under this Act the same jurisdiction to hear and determine the question or matter as though it were a question or matter that arose under the Workers Compensation Act 1958 or the Accident Compensation Act 1985 or the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013 (as the case requires); and

        (b)     if the County Court, the Magistrates' Court or VCAT exercises that jurisdiction such of the provisions of those Acts as are applicable apply with the necessary adaptations and modifications.
