STATUS OF CHILDREN ACT 1974 - SECT 35

Access to court records if person deceased or cannot be found

    (1)     If a person referred to in section 34(2) is deceased, an application under that section may be made by an adult who is—

        (a)     a parent or grandparent of the deceased; or

        (b)     a child or grandchild of the deceased; or

        (c)     a sibling of the deceased.

    (2)     If the child to whom the proceeding related is now an adult and cannot be found or contacted after making reasonable inquiries, an application under section 34(2) may be made by an adult who is—

        (a)     a parent or grandparent of the child; or

        (b)     a child or grandchild of the child; or

        (c)     a sibling of the child.
