PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS REGULATIONS 2008 (SR NO 162 OF 2008) - REG 24

Sale of electronic collars

r. 23

    (1)     A person must not sell or hire out an electronic collar unless the person who sells or hires out the device maintains a record of the following details about the purchaser or hirer of the collar—

        (a)     the full name of the purchaser or hirer; and

        (b)     the street address of the purchaser or hirer; and

        (c)     a contact telephone number or email address (if any) for the purchaser or hirer; and

        (d)     the date of sale or hire of the collar.

Penalty:     10 penalty units.

    (2)     A person must not provide false or misleading information in the details to be recorded under subregulation (1).

Penalty:     10 penalty units.

    (3)     A person must not sell an electronic collar other than one manufactured for use on cats or dogs.

Penalty:     10 penalty units.

    (4)     A person must not sell an electronic collar manufactured for use on cats or dogs unless the seller of the device advises the purchaser of the relevant conditions of use, as set out in regulations 17 to 21, in writing at the time of sale.

Penalty:     10 penalty units.
