TRANSPORT (TICKETING AND CONDUCT) REGULATIONS 2005 (SR NO 69 OF 2005) - REG 24

Drinking liquor and possessing an open container of liquor

r. 24

    (1)     A person must not drink from a container that contains liquor or purports to contain liquor in or on any rail or road vehicle or any rail premises unless the liquor has been purchased from, and is consumed at, a place that has been authorised by the relevant passenger transport company, a rail freight operator or Rail Track for that purpose.

Penalty:     5 penalty units.

    (2)     A person must not possess an open container that contains liquor or purports to contain liquor in or on any rail or road vehicle or any rail premises unless the liquor has been purchased from, and is consumed at, a place that has been authorised by the relevant passenger transport company, a rail freight operator or Rail Track for that purpose.

Penalty:     5 penalty units.

    (3)     In this regulation "liquor" has the same meaning at it has in section 3 of the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 .
