TRANSPORT (TICKETING AND CONDUCT) REGULATIONS 2005 (SR NO 69 OF 2005) - REG 36

Driving or riding a vehicle on rail premises

    (1)     A person must not drive, ride or park a vehicle on any part of rail premises that is not set aside for the use of vehicles by the passenger transport company or the rail freight operator that is responsible for the premises or, if Rail Track is responsible for the premises, from Rail Track.

Penalty:     10 penalty units.

    (2)     A person who drives or rides a vehicle on rail premises must obey all speed restrictions, traffic control signs and parking control signs displayed on the premises.

Penalty:     10 penalty units.

    (3)     A person who drives or rides a vehicle on rail premises must not drive in a manner likely to cause injury to or to endanger any person or to damage property.

Penalty:     10 penalty units.

    (4)     A person who drives or rides a vehicle on rail premises must not park the vehicle so as to cause an obstruction.

Penalty:     10 penalty units.

    (5)     A person who drives or rides a vehicle on rail premises must comply with directions about driving, riding or parking of vehicles from an authorised person.

Penalty:     10 penalty units.

    (6)     In this regulation "park" includes stopping and allowing a vehicle to stay (whether or not the driver leaves the vehicle).
