Designation of principal doctor or principal scientist95. Designation of principal doctor or principal scientist (1) On an application under section 93(g) or 94(d) or subsection (2) or (3) of this section, the Authority, after considering nominations from the applicant, must designate a doctor or scientist approved under Division 3 to carry out research or a person who has applied to be such a doctor or scientist to be the principal doctor or principal scientist responsible for the undertaking of the approved research at the premises to which the application relates. (2) If, during the course of the licence, the principal doctor or principal scientist dies, resigns, is suspended or ceases to be approved under Division 3 to carry out research, the licensee must, within 14 days after that event, apply to the Authority to designate another doctor or scientist who has been approved under Division 3 to carry out research to be the principal doctor or principal scientist or to be that doctor or scientist during the period of suspension, as the case requires. (3) If, during the course of the licence, the licensee wishes to make any other change in the principal doctor or principal scientist, the licensee must first apply to the Authority to designate another doctor or scientist to be the principal doctor or principal scientist.
