Western Australia LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY (Introduced by Mr Brown) Prisons (Pyrton) Amendment Bill 2000 A Bill for An Act to amend the Prisons Act 1981. The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows: 1. Short title This Act may be cited as the Prisons (Pyrton) Amendment Act 2000. 5 2. Commencement This Act comes into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent. page 1 139--1 Prisons (Pyrton) Amendment Bill 2000 s. 3 3. Principal Act In this Act the Prisons Act 1981* is referred to as the principal Act. [* Act No. 115 of 1981. 5 For subsequent amendments see 1999 Index to Legislation of Western Australia, p. 200.] 4. Section 5 amended Section 5 of the principal Act is amended -- (a) in subsection (1), by deleting "The Governor" and 10 substituting the following -- " Subject to subsection (1A), the Governor "; (b) by inserting after subsection (1) the following -- " (1A) Any proclamation made under this section 15 relating to -- (a) the whole, or any part, of the land; or (b) any buildings, or enclosures, on the land, described in Schedule 3, 20 is invalid and of no effect. "; (c) by inserting after subsection (2) the following -- " (3) The proclamation made under this section and 25 published in the Government Gazette dated Friday 17 March 2000 is revoked. ". page 2 Prisons (Pyrton) Amendment Bill 2000 s. 5 5. New Schedule 3 The principal Act is amended by inserting after Schedule 2 the following -- " 5 Schedule 3 [section 5(1A)] The land being -- (a) part of lot 10 on Diagram 17904, and being the land held in Certificate of Title Volume 1820 10 Folio 664; or (b) portion of Swan Locations O1 and P, and being the land held in Certificate of Title Volume 1117 Folio 428. "
