A Bill for
An Act to amend the Perth Theatre Trust Act 1979 to establish the
Perth Theatre Trust Collection, known as the Museum of
Performing Arts.
The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:

1 1. Short title
2 This is the Perth Theatre Trust Amendment Act 2011.
3 2. Commencement
4 This Act comes into operation on a day fixed by proclamation.
5 3. Act amended
6 This Act amends the Perth Theatre Trust Act 1979.
7 4. Section 3 amended
8 In section 3(1) insert in alphabetical order:

10 Collection means the Perth Theatre Trust Collection,
11 known as the Museum of Performing Arts, established
12 in section 20A;
13 performing arts material means any object having a
14 connection with or containing information about the
15 performing arts related to the history of the building
16 under the auspices of the Trust, and includes costumes
17 and accessories, musical instruments, personal effects,
18 stage properties, puppets, set and costume designs, set
19 models, technical equipment, film, video, photographs,
20 posters, programs, scrapbooks, sheet music and sound
21 recordings;

24 In section 16(1) after paragraph (f) insert:

26 (ga) establishing, maintaining and managing the
27 Collection; and

4 20A. Perth Theatre Trust Collection established
5 (1) The Trust is to establish and maintain the Perth Theatre
6 Trust Collection in accordance with this section.
7 (2) The Collection shall comprise of --
8 (a) all performing arts material in the possession of
9 the Trust;
10 (b) any performing arts material donated to or
11 otherwise acquired by the Trust from time to
12 time;
13 (c) any donations, gifts, dispositions and trusts of
14 property, real or personal (other than money),
15 lawfully made or declared by deed, will or
16 otherwise to or in favour of the Trust or for the
17 uses or purposes of the Trust and accepted for
18 the collection by the Trust.
