(1) A tier 1
association in respect of a financial year must ensure that its financial
statements for the financial year are reviewed or audited in accordance with
Divisions 5, 6 and 7 before being submitted to the annual general meeting of
the association if —
(a) a
majority of the members present at a general meeting of the association pass a
resolution to that effect; or
(b) the
association is directed by the Commissioner to do so.
Penalty: a fine of $2 750.
(2) A resolution or
direction under subsection (1) must specify whether the financial statements
are to be reviewed or audited.
