(1) The Commission has
power to do all things necessary or convenient to be done for or in connection
with the performance of its functions under this Act.

(6) Without limiting
subsection (1), the Commission has the rights to take water from land vested
in or under the care, control and management of the Commission that would
apply if —
(a) that
land was land alienated from the Crown; and
(b) the
Commission was the occupier of that land,
within the meaning of
the Rights in Water and Irrigation Act 1914 .
(7) The rights
referred to in subsection (6) may be assigned by the Commission to —
(a) a
member of the Commission; or
[(b) deleted]
(c) the
CEO or a member of the staff of the Department.
