(1) This Part does not
prevent an officer, with the informed consent of the occupier of a place, from
exercising without a search warrant any of the powers that could be exercised
under a search warrant in respect of the place.
(2) For the purposes
of this Part, an occupier gives informed consent to an officer if the occupier
consents after being informed by the officer —
(a) of
the powers that the officer wants to exercise in respect of the place; and
(b) of
the reason why the officer wants to exercise those powers; and
(c) that
the occupier can refuse to consent to the officer doing so.
